Homework For the Week of 11/18

Last week's homework was a success! We had almost 100%!  That is our goal this week!

Homework paragraphs are looking great! I can really tell that students are spending more time adding details to their summaries and evidence to their thinking - way to go!

In ELA we have been learning about inferring, which is when we have to use clues from the text and our schema to think about what's probably true.  Today in class, we learned about inferring theme.  Usually authors write books because they want us to think about some big ideas when we're done reading. This idea or message is called the theme of the story.  We usually have to infer the theme because the author doesn't tell us exactly what it is.  We watched a Pixar film and inferred the theme. Check it out!
